Abstract
The origin of the word mimesis comes from the verb “mimisthai” which means to imitate or follow an example or to make a "representation". Thus, the imitation or mimesis is an academic principle that imposes the cult of representation based on recognition. This article will try to discuss how the mimesis and illusion in the theatre interact with art, and with painting in particular.
