Abstract

Prepared during 50 years, the Orthodox Council of Crete has only partially met expectations. If certain produced documents are disappointing, the conciliar encyclical, anxious to meet the challenges of the time, reveals a new approach with a lucid look on the world today. The Council of Crete, incomplete and unfinished, wishes itself to be the first step in a long-term synodal and conciliar process.
