Abstract

The portrayal of the way is deeply inscribed in the understanding of the life of every single person as well as that of the Church : every man is a homo viator and the Church is God’s people journeying to the New Jerusalem (eg 111). Furthermore, Jesus himself, before his passion and Resurrection, reveals to his disciples that He is the Way (Jn 14,6) –the way to the house of the Father– where the yearning for communion and love shall be fulfilled. Christ is the Way in the power of His Paschal mystery, to which each one of us is incorporated in the sacrament of Baptism, being buried with Him in his death and awakened for a new life.
