Abstract

Through its testimonial value, the Moroccan prison narrative provides a set of data of undeniable importance. The experiences recounted represent valuable insights likely to shed light on the gray areas that have long marked the official version of the country’s history. To guarantee the transmission of his testimony, the prison author multiplies strategies and involves the reader in a kind of testimonial pact, based on an oath and the promise to tell the truth, making the reader an active participant in the testimonial enterprise, capable of submitting the testimony in question to a process of validation in order to verify the veracity and authenticity of the facts recounted.
