Abstract
This article lays out a general review of pedagogical and organizational innovation. It articulates several managerial recommendations based on an integrative model proposed in the literature and developed during action research conducted within a Lebanese University. This model aims to emphasize the role of the gift/counter-gift (Marcel Mauss, 1925) at the heart of organizational innovation for the generation of pedagogical innovation in higher education, acknowledging both the strategic and relational importance of innovation, but also the barriers to organizational innovation.
