Résumé

La pandémie COVID-19, déclarée par l’OMS en Mai 2020, a obligé les gouvernements du monde à adapter plusieurs mesures restrictives provoquant des difficultés d’accès aux soins bucco-dentaires. Au Liban, un manque de données sur ces difficultés et leurs conséquences chez les personnes complètement édentées a incité la réalisation d’une étude pilote évaluant l’impact de cette pandémie sur l’accès aux soins bucco-dentaires, l’état de santé orale, la qualité de vie liée à la santé orale (QVLSO), et le statut nutritionnel de ces personnes. L’étude a été menée au département de Prothèse Adjointe de la Faculté de Médecine Dentaire de l’Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth par l’intermédiaire d’un entretien personnel comprenant l’utilisation des versions Arabes des questionnaires ADL, OHIP-EDENT et MNA, suivi d’un examen clinique. La collecte des données de 17 sujets complètement édentés a montré une difficulté élevée d’accès aux soins bucco-dentaires et des répercussions négatives sur leur santé orale, leur QVLSO et leur nutrition.
