Abstract

In parallel with the rise in the importance of change in the life of organizations and in the face of a stable high failure rate in efforts and attempts at organizational change, several questions arise for any organization in the context of a reform project or a change to come in order to try to guarantee as much as possible the achievement of its expected results, primarily: a successful implementation.
This research article aims to understand in depth the problem of preparing for change in a particular organizational profile, with a culture of public service, and operating in a specific cultural context, the Lebanese context. Studying organizational readiness for change in terms of mental representation and in a cultural approach, this interpretative and qualitative study in the context of a single case shows a readiness strongly linked to the cultural context, both internally and externally. The results developed underline the importance of the contextual approach in the study of readiness for change and lead to the development of a contextualized model of readiness refined in the study context.
